Trevoh Chalobah Expected to Replace Marc Guehi in England Squad

The Chelsea star followed his brother Nathaniel in representing England, emerging as the twenty-first duo of siblings to earn caps for the England side.

Trevoh Chalobah is expected to join up with the Three Lions selection to replace unavailable Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi.

The 26-year-old is set to join the team for England's last World Cup qualifying matches against Serbia and Albania, although it has yet to be confirmed.

The England team have already qualified for next summer's tournament.

Chalobah was given his first invitation under England head coach Thomas Tuchel in May and then made his debut against the Senegalese team.

In the month of September, Tuchel stated Chalobah was unlucky to be left out from the selection for qualifiers against Serbia and Andorra, and also omitted him for the following October matches.

Tuchel has been an significant figure in Chalobah's career, having awarded him his Chelsea first-team bow in 2021.

Chalobah has played in almost every games for Chelsea this season, with the team in third place in the English top flight, in the EFL Cup last eight and in the league phase of the Champions League.

Guehi suffered a injury to his foot in Crystal Palace's Conference League success over the Dutch side last week.

There are set to be additional call-ups to the squad. Newcastle boss Eddie Howe has confirmed that both attacker Anthony Gordon (hip injury) and shot-stopper Nick Pope (a concussion) will be unavailable from the squad.
